MATRIX® C Hi-Mineral Low Dose Oral Drench is the ultimate triple-combination drench for effective management of susceptible parasites in cattle, including those with single or dual resistance to any of the three major drench families. Triple combinations have been shown to significantly slow the development of drench resistance. It also provides a supplemental source of cobalt and selenium to support optimal animal health.

Benefits

  • Triple Combination Efficacy (3-Way): Combats mixed infections using three powerful actives (abamectin, levamisole, oxfendazole) for outstanding results in cattle.
  • Drench Resistance Management: Specifically formulated to effectively control parasite populations with single or dual resistance, which can help significantly slow the development. of resistance on-farm.
  • Broad Spectrum Control: Effective against major internal parasites including Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Cooperia, and Dictyocaulus (Lungworm).
  • Essential Mineral Supplementation: Provides a vital supplementary dose of Selenium and Cobalt to support optimal animal health and performance.
  • Convenient Low Dose Volume: Features a low volume dose rate of just 1 mL/20 kg body weight.

Matrix C the ultimate triple-combination drench for effective parasite management in cattle

Using combinations of actives has been shown to help slow the development of parasite drench resistance, and a triple combination product is a convenient way of drenching 3 different actives without having to drench 3 different times.

MATRIX is the pioneer brand of triple combination products for sheep and cattle, available in New Zealand since the launch of MATRIX Hi-Mineral for sheep in 2005.

MATRIX triple combination products contain three different families of drench active to provide effective control of internal parasites including those with single or dual resistance to the avermectin/milbemycin, benzimidazole or levamisole/morantel families.

Drenching cattle on a cattle farm

Triple active drenches such as MATRIX C Hi-Mineral can help slow down the development of resistance in parasites to drenching medications. This is important for long-term parasite control in cattle herds.

The "Hi-Mineral" component of MATRIX C provides essential minerals, selenium and cobalt, along with parasite control provided by the anthelmintic actives. This can be beneficial for cattle grazing in areas deficient in these minerals.

Directions

  • Shake well before use. Ready to use through standard drenching equipment.
  • A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment.
  • Dose rate to be based on the heaviest animal in each group.
  • Do not underdose.
  • If there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight to avoid excessive overdosing.
  • Correct drenching techniques should be used.
  • Check the accuracy of drench guns regularly.
  • Rinse drench gun with water immediately after use.

Recommended Use

Timing of treatments will depend on the parasite pressure on individual farms. Diagnostic testing and historical results including faecal egg counts (FECs), faecal egg count reduction tests (FECRTs) and larval cultures can help you to understand and manage the parasite burden and resistance challenges facing your cattle.
Talk to your local vet about parasite management practices for your area to reduce the development of resistance.

General Guidance

  • Toxicity Risk: Doses of 3 or more times those recommended can cause symptoms of levamisole toxicity; therefore, estimate live weights carefully.
  • Dehydration: Dehydrated animals may be more susceptible to toxicity.
  • Fatal Interactions: Fatal interactions may occur between levamisole and organophosphate dips.
  • Mineral Safety: Do not use at the same time as any other selenised fertiliser, prill, or product without consulting a veterinarian.
  • Dosing Integrity: Do not exceed the stated dose or frequency without consulting a veterinarian.
  • Cattle Stage: For use only in weaned cattle.
  • Feeding Restriction: Not to be used in milk or in conjunction with milk or teat feeding systems.
  • Weight Limit: Do not use in calves weighing less than 120 kg.
