Cattle over 660 kg: dose at 1 mL/20 kg (2.5 mL/50 kg bodyweight)
Directions
- Preparation & Equipment: Shake well before use. Use only the pour-on applicator supplied for use with Eclipse® Pour-On for Cattle. Eclipse® Pour-On for Cattle is not compatible with other guns. Rinse gun after use with clean cold water.
- Application: Apply the correct dose along the backline from between the shoulders to the tail using the applicator included with the pack. Correct drenching technique should be used. Check the accuracy of drench guns regularly.
- Weighing: A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment either with scales or a weighband. Dose rate to be based on heaviest cattle in each group (bulls, cows, steers, calves etc.).
- Accuracy: Check the accuracy of drench guns regularly. DO NOT UNDERDOSE.
- Variation: If there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight to avoid excessive overdosing.
- Rain Fastness: Eclipse® Pour-On for Cattle is rain fast if rain falls two or more hours after treatment.
- Note on Appearance: Temporary hair loss occasionally occurs following application; therefore, do not treat cattle prior to showing.
Recommended Use
Timing of treatments will depend on the parasite pressure on individual farms. Diagnostic testing and historical results including faecal egg counts (FECs), faecal egg count reduction tests (FECRTs) and larval cultures can help you to understand and manage the parasite burden and resistance challenges facing your cattle.
Talk to your local vet about parasite management practices for your area to reduce the development of resistance.
General guidance
- Do not use on animals which are severely stressed or in ill health.
- Care should be taken in handling pregnant animals.
- Do not exceed recommended dose rates.
- Doses of 3 or more times the recommended can cause symptoms of Levamisole toxicity, so estimate liveweights carefully.
- Dehydrated animals may be more susceptible to toxicity.
- Fatal interactions occur between Levamisole and Organophosphate dips.
