CATTLE
Treats and controls susceptible internal parasites in cattle, and to aid in the treatment and prevention of Vitamin B12 and selenium deficiency. Traditionally young stock receive vitamin B12 in separate oral drench treatments. Now Eclipse E Injection with B12 and selenium will top up the trace mineral selenium and vitamin B12 and also provide one of the most effective, and trusted, double active drench combinations available.
Benefits
- Provides dual-active internal parasite control plus vitamin B12 and selenium in a single injection.
- Dual active internal parasite control for strategic treatment of R1s and R2s in New Zealand farming conditions.
- Trial work in New Zealand shows excellent efficacy.
- Labelled for use in cattle from 88kg bodyweight.
- 24/7 technical support.

Eclipse E Injection with B12 and Selenium is a dual-active injectable drench indicated for the treatment and control of susceptible internal roundworms in cattle, including Ostertagia, Cooperia (L4 inhibited larvae), and lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus). It aids in the treatment and prevention of vitamin B12 (cobalt) and selenium deficiency; essential trace minerals vital for the animal's growth, reproduction, immunity, and energy production.
Gastrointestinal roundworms:
For the treatment and control of susceptible roundworms, including mature and immature stages of:
- Brown Stomach Worm (Ostertagia ostertagi* and O. lyrata* including inhibited L4).
- Barber’s Pole Worm (Haemonchus contortus).
- Small Intestinal Worm (Cooperia oncophora*, C. surnabada*, and C. punctata* including inhibited L4).
- Black Scours Worm (Trichostrongylus axei).
- Bankrupt Worm (Trichostrongylus colubriformis).
- Nodular Worm (Oesophagostomum radiatum).
- Thin-necked Intestinal Worm (Nematodirus helvetianus and N. spathiger [adult only]).
- Whipworm (Trichuris spp. [adult only]).
- Other Roundworms (Trichostrongylus longispicularis [adult only]).
Lungworm
- Dictyocaulus viviparus (includes inhibited L4)
Selenium and Cobalt deficiency
Aids in the treatment and prevention of Vitamin B12 (cobalt) and selenium deficiency in cattle:
- Selenium is an essential trace mineral, critical for animal growth, reproduction, and immunity.
- Cobalt is also an essential trace mineral.
- Ruminants take up cobalt in their diet which is converted to vitamin B12 by rumen microbes. Deficiency in pasture cobalt leads to vitamin B12 deficiency in livestock.
- Vitamin B12 is required for two major enzyme pathways in ruminants, crucial in the production of energy and DNA.
- Vitamin B12 is also vital in supporting growth, reproduction, and milk production.

Dosing
Administration | Dose Rate | Calves |
| Subcutaneous Injection | 1 mL per 35 kg bodyweight | Safe to use in calves over 88 kg |
| Accurate Weighting: Estimate weights accurately, or ideally weigh each animal before injecting. | Do not treat calves below 88 kg bodyweight. |
Directions
- Eclipse E Injection with B12 and Selenium is ready to use through standard sterile equipment.
- A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment.
- Dose rate to be based on the heaviest animal in each group.
- Do not underdose.
- If there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight to avoid excessive overdosing.
- Check the accuracy of the dose regularly.
Recommended Use
- Timing of treatments will depend on the parasite pressure on individual farms. Diagnostic testing and historical results including faecal egg counts (FECs), faecal egg count reduction tests (FECRTs) and larval cultures can help you to understand and manage the parasite burden and resistance challenges facing your cattle.
- Talk to your local vet about parasite management practices for your area to reduce the development of resistance.
General guidance
- Toxicity: Doses of 3 or more times those recommended can cause symptoms of levamisole toxicity, so estimate bodyweights carefully.
- Underdosing: Do not under-dose as this can increase the chance of resistance developing.
- Handling: Do not use in animals that are stressed or dehydrated, as they are more likely to show signs of levamisole toxicity. Fatal interactions may occur between levamisole and organophosphate dips.
- Other Products: Do not use at the same time as any other selenised fertiliser, prill, or product without consulting a veterinarian. Get advice from a veterinarian if you are unsure whether to supplement with minerals.
